Muller Van Severen’s fascination with sculptural furniture and the space it occupies is clearly demonstrated in their latest HAY collaboration. Combining the designers’ innate sense of colour with proportioned shapes makes the Colour Rack an elegant and functional alternative to a wardrobe, which can also be creatively used as a room divider or statement item in many different environments.
With this simple, sculptural form, the Colour Rack’s C and S-shaped options and beautiful colours bring balance to its surroundings.
The Colour Rack comes flat packed - and is easily assembled by the customer - in a range of appealing hues: Jungle Green, Dijon Yellow, Eggshell, Standard Grey, Maroon Red and Steel Blue.
Designed by Muller Van Severen as well, the new Colour Hanger features a distinctive conjoined hook design in a colourful palette and can be used to create playful combinations together with the Colour Rack - or brighten up a neutral clothes rack or wall.
Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. The couple has always been on an inspired quest for sculpturally interesting furniture objects, and their work sits somewhere between design and art, drawing on their passion for architecture and materials. They have won countless awards and collaborated with prestigious museums worldwide (such as Vitra Museum, Centre Pompidou and Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris) and international galleries (Galerie Kreo, Side Gallery, Valerie Traan Gallery). For HAY, Muller Van Severen has designed the Two-Colour Table, Ceramic Table, Colour Cabinet, MVS Cutlery, Arcs Collection and the Colour Rack & Hanger.
