Named after the French word for carabiner, Inga Sempé’s Mousqueton Portable Lamp is an outdoor LED lamp that presents a functional and versatile lighting solution with a familiar yet contemporary aesthetic.
Featuring a multi-purpose hook at the top that creates multiple hanging possibilities, as well as a central hole that leaves space for a stick to balance the lamp body when out in nature, the lamp cleverly integrates technical features to amplify the functional and decorative qualities.
The word Mousqueton means 'carabiner' in French, and it is precisely the flexibility enabled by the carabiner at the top of the lampshade that distinguishes the light.
"My main idea was to create the light you take outside in the garden in the summer," says Sempé. "It should be an invaluable object you can forget outside because it's as solid as the wind and the rain. And the carabiner means you can hang it from a branch of a tree, or a cord. It's a lamp for all of the happy, easy moments – even when you didn't come prepared."
The coated steel shade and zinc alloy base ensure the lamp is robust and weather-proof, while the rechargeable battery makes it easy and convenient to move around for spontaneous placement.
"Inga is a designer who takes the idea of originality and innovation very seriously," says Rolf Hay, Co-founder of HAY. "Mousqueton has an aesthetic and style that feels both very modern, and yet also familiar, something that evokes comfort, pleasure and leisure time with our loved ones."
Available in different colour options, Mousqueton Portable Lamp brings ambience and originality to any indoor or outdoor setting.
