The latest collaboration between HAY and designer Hee Welling, the AAC 200 series retains the fundamental idea shared by the AAC family, however this model is characterised by its new shell construction. Designed with optimal functionality in mind, the curved shell has a slightly higher back and a deep, generous seat that combines inviting aesthetics with a high level of comfort. Lower armrests offer good support, whilst enabling the chair to fit underneath a table or desk, offering a practical and compact seating solution. Made in post-consumer recycled plastic, the AAC 200 series comprises a variety of colours and upholstery options, as well as different base types, making it a versatile and functional collection suited to a wide variety of domestic, office, and public settings.

The shell is made in post-consumer recycled plastic and comes in three colours. Available with full upholstery, a standard and a soft quilted version in all standard fabrics and leathers.
Lower armrests offer good support, whilst enabling the chair to fit underneath a table.
Comes with a variety of base options: solid wood base, moulded plywood base, 4-star swivel base, 4-leg steel tube base and 5-star swivel base with wheels and gas lift.
Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. Welling has received a number of design awards, including the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA) and has been nominated as the Danish designer of the year in both 2013 and 2014. Welling is the son of a cabinetmaker, and his fascination with production techniques, materials and machinery was fired as a child.
He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (where he is also now a design tutor). His design ethos is centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience. His work is characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant looks. For HAY, Welling has designed the About A series and the Hee Chair, Lounge Chair and Bar Stool.
