We asked a few of our favorite designers what they would like to give this holiday season. Find inspiration and see what accessories they are excited to share.
Clara Von Zweigbergk has designed many exceptionally cool products for HAY and this year her ultra-thin porcelain collection, IRIS is a main highlight of the HAY gift guide.
TEA POT by George Sowden
I got so happy when I saw these for the first time, and bought one right away. They are in every way lovely, the colour choices, shapes and finish. Any tea drinker would be happy to befriend one of these for Christmas!
LUP CANDLE HOLDER
Well, these I love. Also, very practical, easy to move, the candles never get stuck, and it is safe for people tending to walk into other rooms and forget about candles. To go all in for the Christmas ambient, there are also versions for the wall.
RUBAN MIRROR
Given you like what they reflect, you cannot have too many of these. They come in five sizes and very nice colours. A perfect gift for anyone really, and very suited for people with nice homes they would like to see more of.
SOFT ICE
Beautiful series that reminds me of mixing yogurt and jam as a child, and also suited for yogurt and jam. I think they would be perfect in a summer house, they make me think of summer, fruit and berries.
From Elric to Grégoire: the lovely JAPANESE GLASS JARS - a perfect addition for his new kitchen.
From Augustin to Elric: the sturdy CHOPPING BOARD, a good tool to make his favorite dish - couscous.
From Grégoire to Augustin: the beautiful TEA TOWELS that match exactly the tiles of his 70’s kitchen.
While Inga Sempé has designed multiple super cool products for HAY her RUBAN MIRRORS are at the top of the HAY wish list this year.
INDIAN STEEL PITCHER
I would choose the Indian pitcher because it looks as precious as a silver one, it is a very qualitative object. The pouring corolla is poetic and happy. I would offer it to my mother.
CHOPPING BOARD
I like the round chopping boards, I have it at home. The thickness of this strong and colored material, and the round shape turns this chopping board into a very noble one, we use it on the table. When it remains on the counter top on the kitchen, its graphic silhouette looks very elegant and doesn’t look at all as if we forgot to hide it in a drawer as one does with usual chopping boards. I would offer it to me. I want more at home, to use under plants pots...
COFFEE POT by George Sowden
It is so incredible that one can still improve coffee making at home without a motor or an electronic system, just the most tiny holes ever. And no more paper filter to forget to buy. George Sowden did it and it was in his studio that I did my first internship... beside the cleaver system, the ceramic pot with its contrasted lid is very beautiful. I would offer one to my father, as the only food he was ever able to do was filter coffee for himself.
